An Intro thought-rant!

So, Really....

I would NOT be serving my heart's purpose if I did not at least mention the impact of the choices we all make and this MUST be where my book starts.

{But, before I get into this ....rant.....let's have a little chat about ETHICS. Ethics can be defined as 'The moral principles that govern a person's or group's behaviour'. In short, to act ethically is to DO WHAT OUGHT TO BE DONE. It begs the question then .... is the waste produced by unnecessary consumption ethical? Ummm, No. Sorry, wish I could be polite about it but, since this is my piece of writing I can say what I feel. Is supporting industry that is ruining our world's eco-systems ethical? Ummmmmmm, NO. Is feeding our children food contaminated with hazardous synthetic chemicals ethical? How about using OUR conveniences and perception of time as an excuse in order to destroy the planet? You guessed it, NO! {Ethics, what we OUGHT to be doing} {thought I was done but, just thought of another one: turning a blind eye to all of this and claiming ignorance??? 98% unethical... just sayin'}}.

Ok, so here I go. A short piece of writing on things that can and (if we're to be ethical) should be doing to save our world ONE BABY AT A TIME.

As new generations are born into this world, it has been noticed that children are becoming more and more intense. I do not mean this in a light sense. I do not mean it to sound light and in doing so to discount the intensity of these new beings in the simplistic way...they are INTENSE! This change has started a whole new wave of watching and studying and labeling children born into these generations. {If interested, google Indigo Children, Crystal Children and/or Rainbow Children....these generations are being studied as we speak}. We need to know the children of the future, we need to see them (like, really really see them). We would benefit from learning their ways and learning what they already know. Children are and, in my opinion, have been for many decades, being born with incredible senses and outrageous (OUTSTANDING) sensitivities to their surroundings.
The youngest people in our world have abilities that many have lost through interaction in this harsh modern-day society. people have been formed to fit a mould and when they do not fit they're are cast aside as "broken" "strange" "doesn't fit". A very peculiar way of looking at perfect beings. These new generations know the world as one. They are working towards a oneness that is important to our world and a oneness that will create a greater conscienceness.
We've all seen the children who lash-out at the grocery store (their parents are frazzled and embarrassed). Why don't we often (if ever) think to speculate...."what does this child know or feel that is making him/her so uncomfortable?". I've been that mom (of course, what mom hasn't?) and upon further consideration, I know, I should have left the store/mall/large crowd etc. I feel very telepathic with my babies and I can often feel the pain or discomfort my oldest feels in chaos. He is sensitive to energy (positive, negative etc). I hope to cater to his ways as best I can in hopes that I can preserve his sensitivities and abilities in their rawest form.

{I digress}

The point I hope to make is this: Children are born perfect beings. When born, they are given what they need in order to grow and thrive in life. Technology, although convenient, is not necessary. In the book titled 'Anastasia' by Vladimir Megré (Book One in The Ringing Cedar Series) I read something that rang true to me (OMG NO PUN INTENDED...). The author was told that children are brought into our modern world and one of the first things they are often given is a small toy or rattle or....what ever material manufactured item mom and dad decide upon. Because of this, is it any wonder why we have such a fascination with material items? We feel we need them. We feel we can not do without....of course we do, these things are given to to us as something we are told we NEED from our very beginnings. Wouldn't it be interesting to see what a child would hold most dear if given a pine cone or baby lamb to cuddle as it's first toy (insert laughter here....but, I'm not kidding)?! My guess is that this world might be better off if that were the case. I mean, we'd have babies upon babies upon babies cherishing the trees and animals....

[JUST A SIDE NOTE: MY KIDS HAVE TOYS]

I am often disturbed by the amount of toys some kids have. Now, granted, I get it....parents like to buy toys.....and grandparents LOOOOOVE to buy toys but, really, do children need to start the material manufactured obsession at such a tender young age? Is it really necessary that we TEACH our children that they NEED a room full of plastic toys that walk, talk and beep? Why not focus in on what the kids are interested in. If they love books and trucks (hahaha an obvious choice for our home) keep a couple of other toys but, have a few trucks and a drawer full of books.....change it up if and when their interests shift.

With heightened awareness come sensitivities and reactions. Our modern world is not only filled with an abundance of preconceived notions and plastic toys but....harsh chemicals. These chemicals are literally found everywhere. Ever stop to think about walking across your 'Weed and Feed' lawn and then placing your shoes inside your front door?! Ever stop to wonder what makes your shampoo smell so dang tasty? EVER WONDER WHY THERE IS FLOURIDE IN YOUR WATER?! (and don't get me STARTED on the toxins in your food!) All of these modern day mysteries have a story. A story you're likely to never hear about. NOONE TALKS ABOUT IT. Some call people like me conspiracy theorists but, I like to think that I simply question things others just put up with.


My mom told me a great little story of an older man with Home Care Health assistance. The nurse asks him, "do you know how to read food labels?" He says, "sure, if it has a label....don't eat it!". We'd be wise to ponder this a while....

These thoughts, I hope, will change the world. This is where it begins. Ask questions, Listen to your heart, Think for yourself.

The beginning of something huge....LIKE HUGE HUGE!

Being the biggest procrastinator of life I've avoided this 'beginning' for a couple of years now. I have been called to begin this and feel as if it is something I'm truly meant to do. I've been told by many people (my mom, my friends, Angels, psychics ...etc) that perhaps this is where I should be headed. Now, with all signs pointing in the same direction....and signs SLAPPING me in the face every corner I turn I feel I'm finally ready. I am here to start my book. I don't know exactly what I will be writing about but, perhaps that will come as I jam out words on this here computer.

My general topic? Saving the World (and Your Money) One Baby at a Time [sounds like a good title to me]

Strangely enough, our modern-day North American culture is NOT at all conducive to saving the world (which NEEDS all the saving it can get) nor does it lend itself to saving money. In fact, I've found that it does the opposite in the most extreme fashion....especially when babies are involved. You're expected to buy packages upon packages of baby products spending loads and loads and LOADS of money. "Having babies is the most expensive thing you will do in your lifetime", people say. You're lead to believe that "this is the way. THE ONLY WAY". Well, frankly, if you're reading this you've already taken the first step - STEP ONE: Think for yourself!

I'm not saying that you never have to spend money when you have babies....just sayin' that you can probably make-do with far 'less' than you had orginally thought. I'm here to tell you, less is more....LESS IS REALLY MORE! Read on dear friends, let's learn together (and I'll even do the math for you!).

Wake the F*&K up!...or, if I'm to be polite about it: Wakey Wakey EGGS AND BAAAAAKEY

I have few passions I can be polite about but, that said, here....I will try.

One of my main causes in life: Reducing toxicity in my home, my life and the lives of others (the later is obviously the least simple). If you haven't read it already, I suggest taking a look at the book titled Eco-Holic. The crap you bring into your air and home when you clean with chemical cleaners is deadly. Now, I don't mean deadly in the figurative (that stuff sucks) fashion....I mean DEADLY like it will KILL YOU. It's really no wonder to me why cancers and other terrible illnesses are on the rise. We need to open our eyes and makes some choices for our health. We need to learn and live and educate!!!

These cleaners are not only causing cancers in those who are alive.....these chemicals can linger in our bodies, our systems and our environment for lifetimes and beyond. They can cause illness and disfigurement in the unborn and what's more, is they can cause illnesses and disfigurement in the unborn's unborn. That's disturbing! How is that possible, you ask? When your mother was conceived and developing in your GRANDMOTHER'S womb....the egg which turned into you already existed! These things are vulnerable...they are precious and they are not to be tinkered with.

Now that I'm on a soap box I may as well state: I'm sick and tired of people saying "my parents used these things (bleach, windex etc) and WE survived" give me a damn break. That's an unacceptable excuse made by lazy cowards (there! I said it). Be brave, read, look into the evidence and believe it. It is not healthy! And my answer to people who say that is, "Yeah, so far". These days you're likely not going to make it far in life without knowing at least 1 person to die of such disease. A scary reality if you ask me and I'm putting an end to that in my household (or at least, giving it my all).

Let's start with my (now old) motto: Some lessons can be best learned from our dear Mother....NATURE!
Nature has it's own ways of cleaning, protecting and (GASP) contrary to popular belief, will actually be able to provide one with EVERYTHING one needs in order to clean ones self and their house.

It's not even that hard to find....IT'S NOT EVEN THAT HARD TO USE.

Today I found myself in a pickle. Where to put the toilet bowl cleaner??? WHERE OH WHERE SHOULD I PUT THIS TOILET BOWL CLEANER. I know what you think: put it under the sink, get over it, it's toilet bowl cleaner, EVERYONE PUTS IT UNDER THE SINK. And that's all fine and dandy however, it has been a LONG while since I've had chemicals under my sink - that's where Caleb plays and, frankly, I don't have any toxic chemicals in my home....so, I don't have a child proof cabinet for such things. Even this toilet bowl cleaner, it's non-toxic, biodegradable etc....but, I wouldn't drink it so, I'd rather he didn't either. (In case you were wondering, I put it in my medicine cabinet next to the Q-tips).
I realized through this experience that I do a heck of a job cleaning with no chemicals (if I do say so myself) and therefore, that's what today's post will be ALL about.

Let's start off by saying, there is nothing a little vinegar, baking soda, olive oil (EVOO), salt and essential oils can't clean. Quite literally, I haven't used anything else for the past 5 or so years (a side from my Health Street natural toilet bowl cleaner....and that's only once in a while).

You see, it all started when I met Wade, my husband. He's the smellin'est smeller of life. He can smell EVERYTHING. The tiniest hint of scent offends him. So, just you imagine how offensive it would've been to date ME the queen of smelly purfume, smelly airfreshener, smelly laundry soap, smelly soap soap, smelly fabric softener YOU NAME IT I DID IT. I longed for the smell of cleanliness in my home and on my clothes because....I could barely smell it. That's the strange part, the more you use these products the less you notice - that's because the chemicals are designed to make you want to use more. Sounds all twilight zone and conspiracy theory eh?!? Well, sadly, it's true. The scent chemicals damage your nerves (the ones used for smell - among others I'm sure) and that's why you can barely smell it. Give this a try: try my home made cleaner recipes of 3 months. Then, if you feel so inclined, switch back (although, I hope you don't) you'll notice, I promise! I can barely STAND going to anyone's house now, who uses scented laundry soap....it offends, it really does.

SO HERE WE GO!!!!

Starting with my handy spray bottle: Used for EVER MESS IN MY HOUSE and with 1 mechanic husband, 2 babies, a large dog and a dirty dirty cat I have never once run out of huge messes to clean. In said spray bottle I mix 20 drops essential oils. These oils vary upon creativity and mood but generally are some combination of: Tea tree, lavender, patchouli, Neroli, Ylang ylang, grapefruit, lemon grass etc. You can start with just tea tree and continue to purchase others as you wish....tea tree oil is extreeeeemely anti bacterial and anti fungal AND anti viral (among other properties) but is safe to use in the home. I sometimes add a drop or two of natural dish soap or eco-friendly shampoo for 'scrubability' and then fill the rest with hot water. Swish it and done. Literally, THAT EASY, lasts months and you are now effectively avoiding harmful (likely, ugg, cancer causing) chemicals and dirtiness all at the same time. (p.s - the cost per bottle is....mmmmm....about $2.00 MAX in comparison to the hefty $10 or so you'd normally pay for cleaner)

Dish Soap: Castile Soap (a couple of squirts), essential oils of your choice, water. Mix in old dish soap bottle.....DONE.

Windows: REALLY, I WOULDN'T LIE vinegar and newspaper.....DONE! This will clean your windows better FAR FAR better than windex and paper towel FAR FAR BETTER.

Floors: Fill sink or bucket with wicked hot water, add a bit of vinegar, 2 drops of eco-friendly soap, 5 drops of essentials oils of your choice (check on line for oils that can be used on wood floors)....mop-away....DONE.

Bathtub and Sinks: baking soda or salt for a little "scrubability" and spray bottle.

Toilets: Ohhhhh ~ toilets are my fave! Grade 3 science experiments!!! Add a little vinegar......swish, add some baking soda ....FUUUUUN!!!! Scrub with brush and done.

Walls: Spray bottle

Laundry: Same as dishes but, add some borax and washing soda to the mix

Stove grim (that greasy junk that gets on the ledge behind the stove and on the area with the knobs): EVOO. No word of a lie, oil takes off oil. It really really does. I had been scrubbing that junk with soap for YEARS until I finally tried oil and it works!!!!!

Really, it's all that easy. It's all so inexpensive.

Why go to all the effort you ask? I say, what effort?....I never run out of cleaner! I never have to make a trip to the store for cleaners - I have all I need in my kitchen, I'm 100% not SHITTING you!

Anyways, I hope for your sake and for the sake of those around you (and those who visit you) you choose to give this a try. Some books that I suggest for such a venture: Eco-holic, the aromatherapy bible.

A life of convenience? Really?

Conveniences has been a hot topic in our household. In our house, we usually talk about life's (in)conveniences in the evening. Generally after being somewhere surrounded by the chaos of modern life's 'conveniences' and....once the babies have gone down to sleep. These conversations have many outcomes ranging from happiness to frustration, peace to tears and so on.

{Before I get started, let's make one thing clear, we drive cars, I own phones and a computer and we eat store bought food - less from Sept-Nov when our garden blesses us with it's bounty. I appreciate the conveniences of life just like anyone else. It's when you see or experience it to the extreme that it begins to worry me}.

A while back in life, I met this man. A simple man, quiet, calm and lovely human....I was and still am dang-near the exact opposite. We married and it has been good for me. A learning experience. We began our life together not long ago yet so much has changed in the way we both perceive the world. SO MUCH. We have evolved together. We have evolved away from mainstream thinking. We are forging our own path in this world and I hope to share some of this here:

Now-a-days we've (generally, as a human race) become so detached from the world and all of it's wonder. What is that all about? We've become so concerned with stuff and things that we've lost intuition something that should come so natural to us....something we've been hardwired (LITERALLY) to do and to know. Did you know that we can all see auras? DID YOU KNOW YOU SEE THEM EVERYDAY?? You're not believing me right now but, I assure you, it is true. Stuff and things have got in our way. When did we lose this natural ability? How have we strayed so far from our natural ways?

My goal is to seek this kind of nature. To teach this to my crystal children. To transform our little world into the world that once was.

I find it interesting that, in a world so full of technology so many people feel lost and alone and....unhappy. What is it that is failing us? I wonder if society has evolved beyond repair? I would be interested to find out how many people are truly at peace and happy in the lives that they lead. I'd be most especially curious to do the same test and test by location, socio-economics, spirituality, religious belief etc. And if they are "happy" and "peaceful" in the lives that they lead if they ever truly contemplate the way it was. Back before facebook, back before the internet, back before sliced bread and awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back before the days of homesteading and living from the earth (which, for the record, was once clean).

In this day, so full of convenience, I feel that many people find it inconvenient to choose healthful foods, to sit and look their toddler in the eyes, to carry babies, to play outdoors, to grow their own food, to love themselves unconditionally to, look at the deeper meaning of life, to contemplate alternatives (alternatives for ....anything), to ....fend for themselves. Our dependence on material items and on others confuses me and...disturbs me. Ever seen the movie WALL-E? (more on that in another post) I worry that the world has bred out our patience or jaded us to the point of believing that someone else can do better for us than we can.

I like to think that there is more than meets the eye. In every case. I wonder what others think?
I'm going to roam about with my little family and see what there is to see, do what there is to do and try my hand at many things. I think that getting 'back to nature', as cliche as that sounds, would be an interesting way to learn about people, the world and what can be done to bring a a sense of peace to a small place in the world (a big place in my life).
